Fishing In Pattaya

Have you ever wondered where you could go fishing in Pattaya? After all Pattaya is a seaside resort area of Thailand. You will often see a few shoreline fisherman and woman rod fishing off some of the rocky points around the Pattaya area such as the rocks near the Dusit Hotel at the northern end of Pattaya Beach or around "The Windmill" at the southern end.

Fishing Boats

Another popular location to go fishing in Pattaya Bay is the small island just of the beach. It is a ten to fifteen minute boat ride from the Pattaya Bali Pier to this small rocky island named Koh Krok. "KOH" means "island" in Thai language. You can rent a fishing boat complete with captain and crew to get to the best fishing location.

Usually there will be no need to have all your own fishing gear. Most of the boat owners are able to supply all the fishing gear on board. Make sure you confirm with the captain or owners what kind of gear they have especially if you require some professional kind of fishing tackle. So you can have fun fishing and maybe catch your own lunch. The captain's wife will probably offer to cook your catch for you right on the boat.

Fishing Boat Operators

To find a boat and crew to take you on a fishing trip you could just take a stroll along the esplanade at Beach Road. That is where a lot of the operators hang out waiting for a customer to come along. One area where you are bound to find a boat operator is under the trees along the beach in front of Gulliver's Restaurant.

There are also several tour operator shops along Beach Road where you can book your expedition. However that just might cost a little more than going direct to the operators. Of course you will usually be able to book through the tours counter in your hotel if there is one. Whatever boat you book ask the agent or operator to show you a recent photo of the boat that you are going to be boarding.

If you can't swim make sure there are working life jackets in good condition on board the boat.
